Derek Kerton, Principal Analyst of The Kerton Group and Chairman of the Telecom Council of Silicon Valley, is an internationally recognized wireless industry expert having worked in wireless technology, content, and applications since 1996.

Mr. Kerton’s expertise in relating communications technology to real business strategy is recognized internationally; he has worked with multinational wireless carriers, wireless LAN services companies, software companies, mobile device manufacturers, and many of the Internet’s top 100 websites.  Mr. Kerton is the Chairman of the Telecom Council of Silicon Valley, and sits on Advisory Boards for envIO, Aegis Mobility, RCR Wireless, and others.  Building on his previous employment at Ameritech, Sun Microsystem’s Javasoft Division, and Infoseek, his experience has proven useful to his expansive list of clients including :  Disney, Sony, SK Telecom, Ebay, IP Wireless, NextG Networks, NTT DoCoMo, British Telecom, and Broadcom.   With extensive experience with Wi-Fi, Kindle, converged devices, LBS apps, mobile video, hot spots, standalone GPS, wireless hot key and many more current issues, Derek is equipped to handle any concerns within the telecommunications industry. 
Derek speaks English, French, and Spanish, has an MBA from Cornell University and a Honors BA in Economics from the University of Waterloo.
